When I opened X/twitter this morning, I was not happy to read Steve Jurvetson's tweet. Different experiences shape individuals' realities, and when they clash, like in this case, it can undermine others' hard work, including my own.
I want to reiterate that we were recognized as one of the Technology Pioneers 2023 by the World Economic Forum, and we did not pay anything for this award.
Regarding elitism, I cannot relate because I am just an ordinary citizen with extraordinary goals. I (we) have no powerful connections. I own myself. We at Stock Knowledge are just a group of hard-working people who built something truly innovative and pioneering.
Personally, I'm not a fan of fame or awards. If it weren't for my team's encouragement, I'd gladly avoid the spotlight. Exposure can be distracting when building something. While I've been fortunate enough to receive awards, they're not my main motivator. However, recognition from established organizations like the WEF signifies appreciation for our dedication and passion, which I deeply value for myself and my team. It was a hard journey, especially for a solo female founder like me, working on deep tech with limited resources in a developing country. Being recognized for building something great is something I'll cherish forever.
Again, receiving multiple awards from established organizations, all earned without any financial exchange, validates our achievements. Our accolades go beyond mere recognition; they're backed by research papers and rigorous professional scrutiny.
Prior to the award and attending the 2023 Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin, China, I didn't personally or professionally know anyone at the World Economic Forum.
The ongoing World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2024 in Davos is surrounded by controversies and negative connotations. Probably and undeniably, many elite members belong to the WEF. As for me, I can hardly relate to elitism because I don't consider myself as one. Isn't our case just about pure brilliance?
